Drone Receiver Mount

I designed a mount that connects our full receiver onto a quadcopter, letting us fly and test the receiver ourselves instead of relying on our partner to fly their fixed-wing aircraft for every test.

Receiver Mount

The mount is adjustable in both pitch and roll, in 5° increments, so we can tilt the receiver as needed to align it with whatever test we're running. There's also room to swap out one part of the mount for a version that would allow finer adjustability beyond the standard 5° steps.

Receiver Mount

That same adjustable part includes both M3 and M6 mounting holes so we can attach other devices and sensors as needed, and it was designed with the understanding that it may end up in the path of laser light from the transmitter. Note that I am still waiting for the correct fasteners when the photos were taken.

I ran FEA on the mount's parts to pick the right sheet metal thickness and to understand how much deflection to expect under load.
