VCSEL Beacon Target System

I created targets used to test our transmitter's tracking system, ranging from small bench-top beacons to flight-representative hardware.

Mini beacon rings: small VCSEL beacon boards with adjustable pinholes, down to as small as 10 microns, for alignment testing. I built a tool to move the target back and forth consistently and accurately, driven by a linear rail I programmed myself.

Flight-size beacon rings: representative-size rings for the VCSELs, used both on tripods for terrestrial testing and mounted to the drone for air tracking tests.
